COLETTE PARIS WILL HOST LOUIS VUITTON’S FIRST EVER MENSWEAR POP UP STORE

Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Parisian retailer Colette for a pop up store. From June 22th to July 18th, LV will present their menswear fall 2015-2016 show collection on the upper floor of Colette’s premises. This will be Louis Vuitton’s first time presenting their menswear line at a locale other than their own stores.

Louis Vuitton’s fall 15-16 collection was a tribute to the creations of Christopher Nemeth, the late English fashion designer and artist. Developed by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton men’s collections, the collection references the cord print and the “Harajuku”-spirit silhouette that inspired Nemeth’s work in Japan.

The pop up store will also sell an exclusive item, the Twister tennis shoe that is covered in the cord print and is an eye catching sporty- luxe item with its pristine white and blue design.

JOHN NOLLET’S CUSTOM LOUIS VUITTON TRUNK IS HOME TO HIS ENTIRE SALON!

Many have expressed their wish to “live out of a suitcase” but French hairdresser John Nollet might be the first to work out of one! Boasting a client list that includes the who’s who of Hollywood (Elizabeth Hurley, Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger, Kylie Minogue, Uma Thurman and Johnny Depp are just some of the names) John Nollet is the last word in haute hair.

So when Park Hyatt partnered with Louis Vuitton (a few years ago) to present a Tour of the World with “Hair Room Service Around the World” by John Nollet, it was but natural that this hair technician would need a home for his elaborate set of tools.

Louis Vuitton stepped in to provide custom versions of their iconic luggage trunks produced by Les ateliers d’Asnières. The design process alone took a year and Nollet worked with one hundred artisans to customize his dream work box.
Together, the trunks are nothing short of a portable salon. The exterior is crafted in familiar monogram canvas with a black leather trim while the inside is clad in a vivid, festive red with black details.

The trunks boast a wealth of compartments and drawers designed especially to store Nollets hair accessories and tools.

“I was working with these amazing people who are working in Asnieres, the place where special ordered pieces are made. 100 artisans, more special than the next, [worked there]. Unbelievable you can’t imagine. It’s amazing. I couldn’t speak,” Nollet told the Covateur.

The beautiful trunk makes a truly luxe workspace for the hairstylist who has now set up base at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme in Suite 101. We know we would be way more productive if we could work out of custom LV Trunks!

LOUIS VUITTON HEADS TO JAIPUR FOR THEIR SPRING 2015 MENSWEAR CAMPAIGN

Louis Vuitton menswear is all set for an Indian summer! The historic and culturally rich Indian city of Jaipur was chosen to be the backdrop for the brand’s s/s 2015 menswear campaign. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh, the campaign images feature model Rhys Pickering clad in luxe jackets, printed shirts and trench-coats carrying the brand’s instantly recognizable monogrammed bags.

louis-vuitton-mens-spring-collection-1In an accompanying campaign video, three models summarize the collection in four scenes sporting brightly colored bomber jackets, printed shirts and sweaters and slim trousers along with dark sunglasses. Jaipur’s dusty ancient domes and walls make a fitting complement to this travel inspired collection. Titled “Looking up at the Stars,” the collection is Kim Jones’ attempt to explore of the origins of menswear.
